Leonard Karp

Partner

Leonard Karp graduated from Law School at the University of Arizona in 1965. Mr. Karp is a senior partner in the law firm of Karp & Weiss, P.C., and practices in the area of family law. Mr. Karp received the 2014 State Bar of Arizona Award for outstanding contributions to the practice of family law in the State of Arizona and the Lifetime Achievement award from the Foundation for Family Justice in 2015. In 2012, he was selected as Tucson's Best Lawyers Family Law Lawyer of the Year. Mr. Karp has achieved an AV preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubble which is the highest possible peer review rating for his legal ability and ethical standards since 1987. He has also been listed in the Naifeh and Smith Harvard Law School’s The Best Lawyers in America, Arizona’s Family Law Category, continuously since 1987.

Mr. Karp focuses his practice on representing high-net-worth individuals involved in complex marriage dissolution actions. Many of Mr. Karp’s cases involve the division of valuable businesses, real estate, and other financial assets that are owned by the marital community. Mr. Karp has extensive experience working with forensic accountants, business lawyers, and experts in both valuing and dividing assets.

Mr. Karp also is a highly respected mediator for those spouses who seek to resolve issues without litigation at all or to end pending litigation.

Mr. Karp is also considered one of the foremost legal authorities concerning civil litigation regarding domestic violence, spousal abuse, and child molestation.
